Adams County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody status, release anyone, verify a release, post bond, schedule a visit, or pull official booking records. For an answer about a person or record, contact the government office that maintains it.
Where Adams County Records Live
Use the jail for a current county-custody question and the Sheriff's Office for a formal records request. The Adams County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Anthony "Tony" Grootens, is at 521 Vermont Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301. Its listed phone is 217-277-2200, fax is 217-277-2214, and email is sheriff@adamscountyil.gov. Administration and records hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. The official Adams County FOIA page and the linked Sheriff's FOIA form are the starting points for a specific booking record or photograph request.
The Adams County Jail is at 537 Vermont Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301. Jail information is available at 217-277-2202. The sheriff's FAQ says booking questions may take an hour to several hours, and jail staff can provide the bail amount, charges, and first appearance when applicable. Later court dates come from the Circuit Clerk. A person missing from the morning population sheet is not automatically confirmed released.
Choose the record holder that matches the arrest, custody, or court question:
- County booking record or photo: Start with the Adams County jail search and request path. For an older entry or an image no longer shown, ask the Sheriff's Office for the exact name, booking date, AC number if known, arresting agency, and record type. Privacy, active-investigation, juvenile, or other legal limits may affect a response.
- Quincy Police Department Central Records: QPD is at 530 Broadway, Quincy, Illinois 62301, with information and records at 217-228-4470. Its Central Records page accepts written FOIA requests from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, prefers email and PDF delivery, and states that a general request is answered within five working days unless an extension applies. Follow the current instructions on that linked page.
- Camp Point police records: Camp Point Police can be reached at 217-593-6622. The village office is at 111 East Wood Street, Camp Point, Illinois 62320, phone 217-593-7110. No online police-records portal was verified, so ask the police department or village office where the record is maintained and submit a written FOIA request. County custody questions still go to the Adams County Jail.
- Payson records: Payson's public Police page routes police contact to the Adams County Sheriff's Department at 521 Vermont Street, Quincy, 217-277-2200. For a municipal record maintained by the village, use the Payson FOIA route, villageofpayson@gmail.com, or P.O. Box 67, Payson, Illinois 62360. No public Payson booking roster was verified.
- Court case and disposition: Use the county's Court Records route and its Adams County Judici search. Judici is operated by Judici.com, not by a court. The court file controls whether an allegation was dismissed, reduced, resolved by plea or trial, or followed by a sentence. Later dates should come from the Circuit Clerk.
- Illinois state custody: For a person sentenced to state prison or listed on parole, use the Illinois Department of Corrections Individual in Custody Search. For an archived state record, use IDOC Contact Us and select Record Search. IDOC is separate from Adams County Jail.
- Federal or immigration custody: Use the Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator for federal-prison custody and the ICE Online Detainee Locator for immigration detention. These systems do not replace a county booking record or serve as local photo galleries.
